The Department of Community Rehabilitation (DCR) - Cayman Islands is an arm of the Criminal Justice System that exists to provide community based supervision and rehabilitative services to adult offenders primarily upon the instruction of the Courts and Parole Board, in an effort to reduce re-offending and contribute to public safety.

Mission Statement

The Department of Community Rehabilitation is committed to the implementation of the rehabilitative mandate of the Court and Parole Board through:

  • Social Work intervention
  • Quality supervision
  • Innovative programs and
  • Treatment plans

To assist our clients to be more productive citizens while reducing the level of offending behaviours and promoting public safety

Department’s Goal

The Department’s goal is fourfold:

  • To assist offenders to function in the community without involving themselves in further criminal activities by providing psycho-educational and other rehabilitative interventions.
  • To assist clients to comply with the conditions of their orders through professional supervision or monitoring by Probation Officers and/or Community Service Coordinators.
  • To provide advocacy and support to victims of crime so that the likelihood of further victimization is reduced.
  • To provide services and support to adult clients undergoing custodial care in order to enable reintegration in the community through a productive and crime free lifestyle.
